Free Knitted Off-Set Rib Bamboo Wash Cloth Pattern

OFF-SET RIB BAMBOO/COTTON WASH CLOTH

THESE NICE LITTLE BAMBOO OR COTTON WASH CLOTHS  ARE SIMPLE TO KNIT AND WOULD MAKE A LOVELY SMALL NATURAL HANDMADE GIFT. PERFECT THANK YOU OR WELCOME PRESENT TO BE LEFT ON A VISITORS BED OR BATHROOM, ESPECIALLY IF ACCOMPANIED BY A HANDMADE SOAP.

THE BAMBOO YARN IS COSY AND SOFT TO THE TOUCH AND THE OFF-SET RIB ADDS A LITTLE TEXTURE TO AID EXFOLIATION.

NOTIONS: TO MAKE TWO

ONE PAIR OF 4.5 NEEDLES
TWO 50g BALLS OF DK BAMBOO YARN
A DARNING NEEDLE TO WEAVE IN YARN ENDS.

I USE DOUBLE THE THICKNESS OF THE THREAD BY USING TWO SKEINS OF YARN TOGETHER TO GIVE A CLOSER TEXTURE.

CAST ON:  45 STITCHES USING 4.5 MM NEEDLES WORKING WITH TWO BALLS OF YARN AT THE SAME TIME.

ROW 1:   KNIT INTO THE BACK OF EACH STITCH, THIS WILL GIVE A NICE FIRM EDGE.

ROWS 2 TO 7:   KNIT ALL THE STITCHES.

ROW 6:  K 4, * (K1, P1); REPEAT FROM * TO LAST 5 ST'S, K5.

ROW 7:  K4, * (P1,K1); REPEAT FROM * TO LAST 5 ST'S; p1, k4.

ROWS 8 AND 9:  REPEAT ROWS 6 AND 7 ONCE.

ROWS 10 AND 11: K ALL STITCHES.

ROW 12:  REPEAT ROW 7.

ROW 13: REPEAT ROW 6.

ROWS 14 AND 15:  REPEAT LAST TWO ROWS ONCE.

ROWS 16 AND 17:  KNIT ALL STITCHES.

ROWS 18 TO 53:  REPEAT ROWS 6 TO 17, THREE MORE TIMES.

ROWS 53 TO 58: REPEAT ROWS 6 TO 11, ONCE.

ROWS 59 TO 60: KNIT ALL STITCHES.

ROW 61: CAST OFF.  CUT OFF YARN AND THREAD ANY LITTLE EXTRA BITS INTO THE WASH CLOTH.

AS THIS ISN'T AN ITEM OF CLOTHING I DIDN'T THINK IT IMPORTANT TO WRITE A  TENSION/GAUGE.

THE APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS FOR  A FINISHED CLOTH IS:-  8.5 x 8.5in/ 21.5 x21.5cm
