That's what we think too...and it is just "a good idea" at the moment...but one we can't escape from...a little worm that crept into our minds and is burrowing a deep hole there...
...maybe it's because it's spring and you know the song...
...but we put it to rest and then we keep getting gentle reminders about how lovely Paris is. Like Rachel Khoo's - The Little Paris Kitchen.
If you haven't watched it yet you must...(don't listen to the critics...you know what they said about The Delicious Miss Dahl and I ignored them then too and even tried to redress the balance a little!) The first two episodes of The Little Paris Kitchen are still on iplayer you can link to them here

Then I kept reading blogposts by people who'd worked at Shakespeare and company, or friends' tweets about it.

welcome back! the eggs look divine!
ReplyDeleteAh thank you Jodie. It's good to be back...I've been trying to simplify things a bit to give me more time to do the things I should be doing and those I love to do like catching up with blogs etc...I've had a few days off together so been able to do a bit of that.
DeleteLike you, we have access to amazing fresh organic eggs...not our own but a friends, so I love food like this where the fresh ingredients are the star.

So lovely to see you again! Little Paris Kitchen looks wonderful. I haven't seen it on here yet but have heard people talking about it. How are you going with 'On The Road'? I read it many, many years ago when I shared a house with two Jack and Dean type guys who I just loved. The copy I read was my Dad's 1958 edition. Dad was definately not a hipster by the time we (the kids) came along but he had a number of Kerouac books which always made me think he had a hidden inner life that was his alone (like we all do!).
ReplyDeleteThanks Caz...you too.
DeleteI'm loving reading 'On The Road.' It's the first of Kerouac's books that I've read and I like his semi-autobiographical style. American author's of the period are amongst my favourite writers. Unfortunately since writing this post and putting down the book half way through I haven't had time to read it...but have a plan for it tonight. Your shared house sounded fun...I think there's probably a book in there somewhere too?!
Hope you manage to catch Little Paris Kitchen...I'm sure that will conjure up some happy memories as well...
Take care
Deb
I always enjoy reading your little snippets and seeing your latest delicious creation. I've heard so many good things about The Little Paris Kitchen, I will most definitely be watching when I get a chance (I have a backlog of shows at the moment).
ReplyDeleteTake care. xx
I'm a bit like that at the moment Tracey. We've got lots of episodes of Homeland recorded and no time to watch... Hope you manage to catch it soon.
DeleteHave a good week.

Watched the episodes avidly - and made several of the recipes all of which were successful - and I now feel bereft because it's finished!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to discover what kind of small blender she uses because I want one!
Hello Maureen,
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming over and commenting. I checked if you have a blog to look at too but couldn't find one.
I'll miss it too...
I noticed her small blender as well. It looked quite robust. I've tried Googling but can't find anything similar. I presume it's a French one. She has a website http://www.thelittlepariskitchen.com/ and is on facebook so you may be able to email or message her . She's actually doing a live webchat at 1pm today.
