Capturing my love of whole foods, combined with the activity of a bustling kitchen.
A weekly collection of photos from the center of my home.

Well there hasn't been much activity or bustling in my kitchen this week because we haven't been there. We've been visiting the new one (I think that would count) and instead of wooden spoons and spatulas I've been using tape measures and rubber gloves to measure corners and pull up old linoleum to see what's lurking below. we've been checking if the wall can be removed to open up into the storeroom, If this old sofa will fit into the stair well; or the old school table could be squeezed into that corner.
But what's about your kitchen this week? and are you coming to join Heather and everyone else for her weekly blog hop?
i love it! the triple windows let in such pretty light. and i'm intrigued by that amazing door. what character! i hope the sofa fits. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh thank you Heather. Light is really important I'm so glad that it looks out onto the garden too.
DeleteHow exciting! What a great space!
ReplyDeleteI know...we can't wait to move.
DeleteNew kitchens are exciting! It looks like you are going to spend a lot of time there (cooking, that is)
ReplyDeleteOnce it's opened up a bit it will the heart of the home...already this little room seems to have a strong pull for me...I can't wait to get there.
DeleteI love all the "old" details of your new kitchen! That is if one can call that big beautiful door and those beams details. What an awesome space!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anka the upstairs is amazing too. It has a small gallery with the original black and white beams. We are very lucky.
DeleteHow exciting to think about all the meals you will cook in your new space!
ReplyDeleteMy fingers are itching to get in there...

That was so much fun, Debby.. Love it.. Those windows and the old door and then the French door (that's what we call the one with all the windows) and the beams.. Can't wait to see more... Hope you are enjoying it all .. xo
ReplyDeleteThanks Faye. I hope one day it will be as cosy and homely as your homes. We don't move for a little while until all the paperwork is sorted out...but there's lots of mental planning going on in our minds. Everyday one of us has a new idea to share.

I've never seen a green woodpecker. Fun!
ReplyDeleteHi Denise,
DeleteI think they are indigenous to Europe and Asia. They are very cute bright green with little red topknots and the males have little red moustaches and the female black ones!
Oh, I am just tickled pink to get a peek into your new kitchen! I love the (I'm assuming it's the front) door, the dark beams, and the cute little cubby door under the stairs. The French doors are lovely too...I have such a thing for French doors...I think they add such elegance to a room. You must be having so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks Emily. It's the back door into the garden. We love it.The front door is a much smaller modern door that we hope to replace with something that suits the house a little more.
