Weekending

Weekends have been full-on recently. Visiting friends in London for the bank holiday. My first ever taste of kefir and nagina spicy Indian omelette. A day at Camden lock that was like a mini world trip.

Staying up too late every night and sneaking out for morning coffees and toasted panetonne at friendly little Italian cafe just around the corner. (My first coffee since migraine experience a couple of weeks ago so even more of a treat.) Going for walk and finding beautiful open space right bang in the middle of the suburbs just two minutes from friends' home. Collecting black and sloe berries to make sloe gin for Christmas.

This weekend back home taking advantage of an Indian summer to catch up with gardening jobs. Baking cherry cake with custard. Scrumping apples for Aunties Apple Cake. Visit from friend who cooked us Persian dill and broad bean rice and chicken with lemon and garlic. And as if that wasn't enough brought us exotic sweets and spicy samosas too...(How lucky are we?) Car-booting on Sunday to recycle more of H's books. Managing to finally do a little more knitting with friend and read a few more pages...

..... Linking with Amanda for weekending....hope yours was a good one....

  1. I hope you can continue the coffee minus the migraine. Does decaf help? I managed to get some knitting done but it was by myself :)

  2. I haven't had any since the bank holiday weekend but I'd totally forgotten about decaf...I'll get some and give it a go and let you know how I get on. Thanks for reminding me.

  4. Fun and fabulous weekend. Let´s see Saturday was spent preparing a birthday party and Sunday was spent throwing a birthday party for a 6 year old little girl and all her girlfriends....and eating too much leftover cake despite efforts to reduce sugar in my diet.

  5. Sounds fun...but tempting. I've been trying to reduce my sugar intake too and experimenting with alternatives like honey and maple syrup instead.
