'Let There Be light' (or, Any Excuse To Use A Tim Walker Photo)

We really needed some purpose lighting for the kitchen........

So I kept 'A' company on the drive too and from London last night. He was going to tutor a friend's son and it was a good excuse for me to spend an hour (or three) rooting around Ikea whilst he was teaching.

As I've explained we needed some lighting and would have loved vintage utilitarian, but it's difficult to find anything that meets up to health and safety standards and doesn't cost a bomb. I usually end up finding something suitable in either Ikea or Habitat.

I liked all these simple pendant ones.......

......and think they look really good when hung in multiples ....

......and these more rustic ones......

They are all great for over a long counter or table...

...but decided that this one was what I was looking for TRAL at £12.99

Hopefully 'A' will have time to install it this afternoon, I'll keep you posted..........

oohh and whilst there I even had time to indulge in some supper in solitude.........Organic green pea soup and an open prawn and egg salad sandwich served with dill and green leaves.....all for £4.09!......
oh and as I'm an Ikea Family member as much free coffee as I could drink.....(and that's quite a lot......!)
