Yarn along

Here are the hopsalong bunny slippers that I knitted last week.  Now they are all felted up and have their ears, eyes  and fluffy little tails stitched on. I just need to find some pink wool for their noses, and then they are ready to post off.
I was going to start  another Tiny owl knit, a cute deer hat with little antlers, a birthday gift for one of H's friends but I don't have the correct needles, which is a bother because I'm dying to start making it.  So I've been experimenting making wrist warmers ready for winter.

I've been trying them out in the garden.  I'm so glad that I used single rib throughout because they are nice and cosy and stretchy. I don't want to take them off!

I think I'll make the next pair with slightly longer arms to keep all the drafts out and maybe the thumbs a bit shorter.  But not bad for a first effort, and just in the nick of time the wind is blowing a gale outside and it's started to pour with rain...

...and reading?

I've been reading an interview with Paulo Coelho in this weeks
The Big Issue and the autumn recipe section of Miss Dahl's Voluptuous Delights.  I'm working my way through the recipes in her book and  realised that I hadn't cooked any since July.   I'm now wondering whether to make her baked apples  for supper or an apple pie...

...and listening to Crooked legs by The Acorn...which coincidentally has really appropriate lyrics for a post about knitting...just listen...

I've joined the knitting circle over here why not come along too?

  1. nOW i REALLY, REALLY, REALLY LIKE THOSE SLIPPERS! So much that I forgot to take off the caps locl lol. Will definitely have to check out that pattern, maybe after the gift rush is over. Wristwarmers are looking snuggly too.

  4. Soooo cute! I've been in such a crocheting mood lately. One night my mind couldn't stop thinking about everything I wanted to crochet. I only have time for one project at a time though.
