This week in my kitchen :: Bowl Food

Capturing my love of whole foods, combined with the activity of a bustling kitchen.
A weekly collection of photos from the center of my home.

Busy days food: Bowls of fruit steamed with maple syrup and vanilla that we eat with scrumptious creamy golden coloured turkish Kaymakli  yoghurt that's made in the pot and arrives with a crusty skin. Or soups made from produce like colourful rainbow chard from neighbour's vegetable plot eaten with Alex Gooch sourdough bread; comforting melty cheese on toast with gifted homemade chutneys, farm fresh eggs poached on toast, quickly thrown together pizzas on shop bought bases and the first stollen of the season.

I'm joining Heather for her weekly blog hop...sadly for the last time...

...are you coming for a quick last peep?

    1. I know, I was just hoping to get back into the 'This week in my kitchen' swing. But sadly Heather decided to call it a day. But that's a good idea Steph...I think I will continue my own little round up.
I love oatmeal but especially with lots of fruit and maple syrup.
      Have a lovely weekend.

    2. I'd love to see you continue also! I'm so glad that Heather did the hop--I think that's how I found you, Deb! But I understand why she needed to stop. I'll be sure to keep peeking in and connecting up with you. Everything (as usual) looks divine. Soup, I think, is the ultimate healing food for all ills--whether they are from body imbalances, stressful life, or just a crappy day. And if you've got fresh bread to boot? Heaven.

    3. It was good to meet up there Erin and I will try to continue. Maybe not always on a Thursday. Soup is one of my ultimate comfort foods and I agree about the bread too.

  2. Looks like you've had some tasty meals this week, and I'm assuming that is during the busyness of house renovations! Last time....oh my, I didn't read her post correctly the first time.

    1. It has been mad the last few weeks Karen but I've tried to squeeze into the kitchen whenever I could. But we've eaten more than our fare share of shop bought sandwiches recently.
It's a shame that Heather's stopped the blog hop but I'm sure that she will still share lots of amazing images of her lovely kitchen and all the wonderful things that she makes there.
      Happy Sunday, debx

    2. Oh I've just googled them...I see they are those lovely crunchy ginger biscuits to decorate the tree. I cheated and bought some from Ikea a couple of weeks ago but if I have time I will definitely make some too.

    1. Thank you emily, it was delicious,
I will try to keep up though most of my time there is spent making cups of tea and coffee or bacon sandwiches for the builders at the moment.
